When “surfing” our website, the following data will be collected and used to provide the website in your interest:
Time and date (This allows us to determine specific times which helps us to, e.g., pinpoint technical problems.)
IP address (Your IP address is required for the web server to transmit requested data.)
Requested data (What file are you requesting? In which subdirectory is the file?)
The port through which you request the data (This information is automatically transmitted by your browser. You will receive your requested website through this port.)
Referring website (When opening our website, some browsers include the URL of the last website you visited.)
Name of the browser you use to surf the Internet (This information is automatically transmitted by your browser. We may use this information to visually display contents. Your browser may also transmit other information, e.g., through installed programs.)

The above-stated data will only be saved on the memory of our web server for a fraction of a second. This is absolutely necessary technically to make websites available. Therefore, this establishes our “legitimate interest” in the sense of Article 6(1) Letter (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation. Our web server is hosted in Germany.
Due to the nature of the Internet, this data will be processed by a number of servers before your request reaches our web server. Accordingly, your data may be collected and used in “third countries” (e.g., the US). This is something that PAION cannot influence.
You may request information from us (business reports; press releases; ad hoc announcements; telephone conference invitations””collectively referred to as the “newsletter”). This allows us to keep you updated about PAION.
The subscription process uses so-called “Double-Opt-In authentication”: First, you will receive a confirmation email with a confirmation link which you have to activate. This will permanently document your consent in the sense of Article 6(1) Letter (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation. If you do not activate the link, your subscription data will be deleted after 3 months.
If you receive a confirmation email without solicitation, someone may have entered your email address into our request form without authorization. Please ignore these circumstances and delete such emails. You will not incur any disadvantage and will receive no further messages.
A hyperlink that allows you to unsubscribe immediately is provided at the bottom of each message. Your subscription and un-subscription data will be subsequently deleted.
